Artist research infographics
After learning a lot about different resources for creating infographics , it felt like an excellent resource for my upper level digital art class students. Infographics are actually proven to help students learn better - the duality of images and short spurts of text are meant to capture attention and be memorable for viewers. Canva is also a great resource for teachers! Stick around if you're curious :)

The way this lesson is framed is: It is an artist research infographic. This is a project a lot of teachers do but is usually assigned as a research paper or maybe a hand-made poster. The infographic provides a bit more equity and ease in creation. This allows for a greater concentration on the quality of research and the value in design. Canva has templates that are helpful and so this project can be done that way or modified to require the posters to be made from scratch. This can inspire artistic confidence in entry level students and can help to build on student digital technical skills all while weaving in a new program.
Learning Objectives and Rationale

The overall objective of this lesson is for students do research and understand the value of art made by diverse artists. The requirement as a part of this lesson was for students to research a visual artist and to be sure to use this program or at least discuss with me their other options.
The use of Black artists was a celebration and a call to attention for students to have the option of researching . This technique of infographic creation is useful to help them in other subject areas and a new digital program to add to their repertoire.
